Liz Hartley, Advisor

 

Liz brings 20 years of strategy, operating and investing experience to helping founders build and scale purpose-driven businesses. Liz was the Founding Partner at WeWork’s early-stage VC funds: the Creator Fund ($180M AUM) and WeWork’s Impact Fund ($200M AUM target), where she invested in early stage companies in the future of work, proptech, sustainability and supply chain. She is an active angel investor in consumer, marketplaces, social, SaaS, healthcare, proptech and fintech.

Liz has held senior leadership roles at WeWork (VP, Strategy and Growth), Apple (Head of Strategy and Product Development), Beats by Dre. (GM, VP of Global D2C Retail), and Ginkgo Bioworks (Head of Growth and GTM), and leverages her operator experience scaling three unicorns to become the largest tech acquisition in 2014, a colossal miss of an IPO in 2019, and one of the largest SPAC deals in 2021.

Liz is a reformed management consultant, as a former Associate Partner at Booz and Co’s Consumer, Media, Technology practice where she advised executive leadership and boards at nearly 50 companies. Liz applies an integrated view of strategy, operations, product and business development to investing, along with fluency in working across a broad range of sectors, company stage and life cycles. 

Liz holds a BA in Psychology and Neuroscience from Stanford, and an MBA in General Management from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where she currently serves on the MBA Advisory Board.
