JONAH SEIGER, Advisor

 

Jonah Seiger is a veteran digital agency executive, communications strategist, and entrepreneur. Over more than 25 years working at the leading edge of the internet and American politics, Jonah has crafted winning digital media strategies for leading corporations, foundations, advocacy groups, and candidates, and has founded and co-founded two successful digital agencies and a leading digital-rights nonprofit. Currently an independent consultant, strategic advisor, and investor, Jonah provides counsel on communications, digital strategy, public affairs, and business operations to early-stage startups, growing companies, and mission-driven organizations.

 Previously, Jonah spent 15 years as founder and CEO of Connections Media, a full-service digital agency focused on helping Fortune 100 companies, foundations, and advocacy groups harness digital media to advance public policy objectives. With a team of 38 and offices in Washington DC and New York City, Connections Media offered strategy, design, custom technology, digital marketing, and analytics services to a variety of high-profile clients, including the Aspen Institute, the Auto Alliance, Bloomberg Philanthropies, JDRF, Google, MPAA, NBC, PhRMA, Starbucks, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Connections Media was acquired by Next15 Communications.  

Before starting Connections Media, Jonah co-founded Mindshare Internet Campaigns in 1997 and built the company to become a leading Web 1.0 public affairs agency. In 1994 he was a founder and the first Communications Director with the Center for Democracy & Technology, which remains an influential internet policy and advocacy organization. While at CDT, Jonah organized some of the first online advocacy campaigns, including the first online petition (1995) and the precedent-setting black page protest of 1996.  Before CDT, Jonah helped shape the laws and regulations that define today’s internet with the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and on Capitol Hill.  A native of Palo Alto CA, Jonah holds a BA in Psychology and Religion from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
