Dan Leff


Dan, a senior advisor at Broadscale, has extensive operating experience building, leading and restructuring global energy services, industrial manufacturing, and technology and software companies.

Dan is currently a board member of ServiceChannel and a general partner of Bayard Capital Technologies, a private equity firm that is ServiceChannel’s majority owner. ServiceChannel is a global SaaS software facilities management marketplace where Dan served as executive chairman for the first two years following Bayard’s investment. Earlier, Dan was executive chairman of Viridity Energy, a software and technology company that optimizes and monetizes energy and storage assets with grid networks. Formerly, Dan was chief executive officer and board member of Hara Software, an enterprise software company providing energy and sustainability solutions to clients globally.  Previously, Dan was an advisory partner at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, a New York City & London-based private equity firm.

Formerly, Dan co-led a restructuring as chief operating officer of Invensys Energy Management and co-chief operating officer of its London-based parent, Invensys plc, a global manufacturing, services, energy management and industrial automation company. Prior to Invensys, Dan served as chairman and chief executive officer of Enron Energy Services following Enron’s bankruptcy filing, where he led teams that managed the liquidation of Enron’s retail and wholesale businesses.

Earlier, Dan served in a variety of entrepreneurial and leadership roles focused on integrated energy services and energy management.  Prior to Enron’s bankruptcy filing, Dan was chief operating officer of Enron Energy Services, a business unit that provided energy outsourcing and commodity services to commercial and industrial clients. Dan also led the reorganization and repositioning of the parent company’s international power plant and pipeline engineering and construction business.  Formerly, Dan was president and chief executive officer of FMES, a forward-looking energy services company that he co-founded and sold to Enron Energy Services. Before FMES, Dan was president and chief executive officer of Pilot Energy, a New York City-based energy services and contracting company, and earlier, he worked for United Technologies Carrier - domestically and internationally.

Dan serves as a board member of ServiceChannel, the Trudeau Institute, Point Positive, and on the advisory board of Carter Morse & Mathias. He was previously on the boards of Viridity Energy, Hara Software, Credit Acceptance Corporation (NASDAQ: CACC), the YMCA Camping Services Council of Greater New York and the National Sports Academy in Lake Placid, NY.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Union College in Schenectady, New York and has four children with his wife Pam of thirty-four years.
